    Hi everyone

I am having a problem with IE7. Every time I try to use it, I get the message that it cannot connect, and it may be due to the fact that I am not connected to the internet, of which I am. On the page a diagnostic link is there to check my internet connection (AOL) and when clicked tells me tat it cannot connect to the internet, even though I am still signed on.
Has anyone got any ideas? Thanx

For Windows XP with Service Pack 2 only:

    Start, Run, CMD
    netsh winsock reset

Wait for a message that a restart is needed. Reboot and test.

i have seen similar problems with some of my clients when they inadvertantly let the upgrade to ie7 go through. every thing works except they cannot get on the net with internet explorer 7. they can get their emails, can ping and even outlook can connect just ie 7 wont connect.

is this netsh winsock reset the fix for that problem ??? and why is ie 7 having this problem.

have in these cases just uninstalled ie7 and all is okay but would be nice to know how to fix this agravating problem.
