Done, I had to check off the java console enabled. Now the file would destroy.

Now I am using IE 6..0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2.050.301-1519IC, I never went to 7 should I?

Any discussion of IE 7 should be a new thread. As to whether you should, my opinion, and an opinion it is only, is that yes you should. Please see my "Sticky" notes at the top of the Internet Explorer and Outlook Express subforum.

As to your issues with Java removal. Shut down the computer, and do a "cold" restart. Begin tapping the F8 function key early and often to eventually bring up the the Advanced Boot Options menu. Choose Safe Mode. Logon as 'Administrator' without the quotes.

Now do the removal of the older files and folders as I outlined earlier above. Add/Remove programs should take care of most of it. As you have observed, you often have to go back and remove some folders.

If you get any 'in-use' message at this point, it is a cause of concern for me. Please post back your results.

Thanks Bill! I was able to delete that last file after checking off the java console enabled in internet options. I have successfully installed the new java to this computer. THANKS.

Please stay posted as I am going to do the one downstairs now.

    Bill,

    FYI

I can't believe I left out such important info on my original question  I didn't say that this pop comes up very often but not everytime we open a new page. Sorry for leaving that out. Its not a one time allow or block option. So this led me to look at my McAfee options and I found a systemgaurd in there and I am trying different options within there to see which one is causing it. So far so good!

I also was able to update the last computer with the Java 6.0 Thanks so much for your help on this !!!
