Hi. I have an annoying problem that needs addressing as its really bugging me. NS 7.2 crashes every time Flash or Shock is on a webpage. What happened is...a freeware registry cleaner was recommended to me. I used it and shock and flash have never been same. I have tried uninstalling both from Adobe's site but no luck. Any suggestions? Aside from NOT using free reg. cleaners LOL

    Bimmer Guy,

If you are using Shockwave Flash Ver. 9, it is the culprit. Reverting to Version 8 is the fix. Altho Adobe states the Archive for these older versions are for developers, they are indeed the real deal. These Version are downloaded in a Zip file, which contains several updates of each version. They can be downloaded here: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_14266

Thanks Ramona: not sure what to do now. In IE 6 (flash & Shock) are fine just in netscape they are not working. When ever a page has heavy flash & shock, it crashes.Should I delete shock & flash before installing 8 in netscape?

Don't delete anything. I did not check the link given by Ramona, but, I think that you have a different installation for IE and NS, so it should not matter.
Of course, why stick to NS7.2 when it is obsolete?

If you never had TB, it will import the mail settings from NS7.2, or , at least will offer you a chance to do that. You don't want to uninstall NS until you have moved, successfully, to another option. I kept NS7.2 for several months, before removing it from my system. Also, you, probably mean uninstall, but don't "delete ".

I am having the same problem with NS crashing everytime a page needing Flash loads since I upgraded to version 9. I know! Why am I still using NS. I got a new computer in October and really meant to install FF and TB after moving over my Profile. But learning the new computer, getting a new TV, HD, DVR, etc I just never got around to it. :(
Now with the Flash problems, I plan to once and for all install FF and TB. I have it on my hubby's laptop and love it. :D
Guess I just need to verify how to be sure all my NS stuff moves over.
Install FF and TB and the Import Wizard should allow me to move all my files over. Right?
Later I can uninstall NS and then delete any leftover NS folders.
    Any other advise?
    Thanks.

Firefox and Thunderbird will give you a chance to import the setting from NS7.2.

Installed FF and TB without a hitch! Everything moved over. Absolutely love the spell checker as I type faster than I think and always make mistakes.
And Flash does not crash my sites like in NS.
Love this site!!! Thanks Ramona and Westside!!!!!!!!!!!:D

Hi Everyone: I loaded Seamonkey and everything moved over perfectly. Why I stuck with NS7.2 so long is beyond me.

    Thanks
