Hmmm......I think the problem may have been my instructions, did you submit the sfc_os.dll located in the dllcache folder or the dllcache folder?

You need to navigate to the 'sfc_os.dll' located in the dll cache folder, located on the F drive and submit that.

    Sorry if I'm confusing you.

Ok, thats great we'll use that one to replace the bad one in system32 folder.

    This is how we'll proceed:
    • Navigate to the file 'sfc_os.dll' located in the system32 folder and highlight it, right-click it, and select 'rename'.
      Change the name to: sfc_os.dll.old
    • now we'll navigate to the file we just had scanned at Jotti, high-light it, right-click it, select 'copy'.
    • Now we'll go back to the system32 folder, and place your pointer anywhere in an blank space, right-click again, and select 'paste'. This will put the clean sfc_os.dll into the system 32 folder.
Reboot the system and see if you get any errors.

    WMP Ahhh!!!!!!!!

Since we're fixing everything on my computer.... :)

I couldn't get my windows media player to play sound.

    I get this message:
An audio codec is needed to play this file. To determine if this codec is available to download from the Web, click Web Help.

When does this message appear, each and every time you want to play something?

WMP should not require any codec to play anything, so lets not download anything. This is actually a ploy by many rogue sites to install malware, but it only happens on these sites.

If it happens all the time, I suggest you start a new thread over in general software.
