At times when I answer someone I want to insert my signature in the reply, but not all the time. How does one insert a signature in a reply?

If you don't have a Signature button on the toolbar you should be able to click INSERT->Signature

  3. to hide this advert.

Under the reply box is additional options. Click to uncheck "show your signature "

When you want to reply to someone you can show your signature.

Steve, your menu bar looked different than mine so I fooled around and found this, attached, When I take the check's out of "use ms word" boxes I do the signature on the insert menu item.

Well, Ron, I thought you were talking about your signature in the BBS posts. That's what I get for thinking. I never noticed your query was posted in the MS Outlook forum.

Those two Word check boxes have been know to cause all sorts of issue....I'd leave em blank.

Not sure if you also saw in my pic, but there is a Signature button on my tool bar...Right click on the ToolBar and select Custom ->Commands tab....I forgot exactly where it is, but you should be able to find it.

    Signatures

Guys, I'm a fairly heavy user of Outlook ... am currently using 2003, but have used all versions since the early 90s. I use Word as my email editor and have found that sometimes there's a "signature" icon and sometimes I have to click on the "Options" drop down menu to find it. Haven't been able to figure out why what happens when.

Anyhow, I typically default to having a signature inserted automatically in new messages and in responses ... then highlight and delete when I don't want a signature on a particular message ... for what it's worth.

    Rgs, Steve
