When I open IE 6 a few minutes later it keeps trying to open browsers and it gets stuck in a loop and opens up over 50 browser windows. I have to shut it down from the Task Manager. It does this whether I'm connected to the Internet or not. It keeps trying to open this myaccounts page from national city bank. I have tried reinstalling IE 6 and it does the same thing . It doesn't happen on Mozilla. I've run 3 different spyware tools and virus scans and it is still happening. I've found the myaccounts in the registry and deleted it, still happening.

    Hello spbutler,
    welcome to Windows BBS ... :) ... !

If you go to Tools > Internet Options > what is the home page set to? Try setting it to "about:blank" (empty).

I will move this thread to the "Internet Explorer / Outlook Express section. I believe it will attract the specialists over there (here).

Download HijackThis and extract it to a separate folder C:\HijackThis. Run the application and post the log file here. If there is any sign of malware, the thread will be moved again, this time to the Removing Spyware & Viruses section.
