what I need to have my computer running top notch? I can't afford a new one right now but this one is slowing down a bit. I know one can be built cheaply and I'm sure I can do it and am open to trying.

If anyone could give me any suggestions, I would appreciate it. Also, where do I find the stats in W2000? I could find them easily in 98 but not in 2000!!

    :D

What exactly are you finding that has slowed down? I'm not following you. Are applications taking longer to load.....is your boot time extending.....

Did you try tweaking your connection as previosly mentioned in the last thread by going to dslreports? Did you look through the link that Arie posted for you for Rose City Software?

The thing is....we've all made suggestions to you.....and you've not followed up on what you've done or tried.

Hi Daizy, I have done all of that.

sorry I didn't report in on some stuff. I've downloaded and unistalled so many programs that were suggested here, I must have forgotten.

I'm over the speed thing, I'm just wondering if I need to upgrade this computer or not. That's all.

It's actually running better, memory is low (20-35% left) l was just wondering if I needed anything new. This is a new thread and had nothing do do with the other stuff. :p

    Sorry for the confusion!!

What do you mean your memory is low? Are you talking aobut your resources?
After a fresh boot...go right click on my computer....choose properties....and look under your performance tab....what does it say your resources are at?

Remember I don't have that "Properties" option in W2K

I downloaded a memory booster thing and it keeps track of my memory available in my tray. it says 32% Free Memory and 90% Free System. It's called Memory Boost Pro. I got it off one of those sites someone recommended.....
