Please wait while windows configures MS Office 2000 Pro

When I click on a Word doc. I get the message "Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft Office 2000 Professional ". MS Word will open but no doc. I can open Word and use the open command in Word to open the doc. I have the same problem with EXel. I am running a Dell Dimension 8400 with XP Pro. using Microsoft Office 2000 Professional. This problem just started, it did work Ok, I don't know what I added or changed.

 

Have you changed users?

Office creates a profile for each user. To do this, it needs to load new stuff from the install disk. Try putting your Office CD into the drive before you open Word/Excel. The system will then find the files it wants, and sort itself out. You should only have to do this once.
