I am a computer novice. I have an IBM NetVista desktop and I use Windows XP, Netscape 7.2 for the internet and email, and a fiber optic connection thru Verizon. Recently, I lost everything in my email account. I was able to open a new account which restored my address book and the current email. I was also able to locate my old inbox, copy it, and relocate it to my desktop but am unable to move it to my email program. Help, please, and thank you. George

If you found the old Inbox, then you should have no problem getting the mail in your new account. The original account would have been in a folder like this:
pop.isp.net, while the new one would be pop.isp.net-1. All you need to do is to copy the needed files, usually Inbox and Sent, and paste them into the new folder. I recommend that the old files be renamed, to, let's say Oldinbox, and Oldsent before copying, so that they do not overwrite the new files. You will see new folders called Oldinbox, and Oldsent, beside the current Inbox, and Sent, into which new mail will come.
As a future reference take a look at this link.

Thank you so very much for your response. I know you guys are all volunteers and I appreciate the advice you give everyone, especially dummies like me. The way I found the old inbox was to use "search" for "inbox ". I found the one with the most recent date, nenamed it, copied it, and moved it to the desktop. I've tried to follow the directions on the site you recommended, but they don't work for me. I was hoping to just drag the icon to the inbox, but obviously that doesn't work. Any other advice? Please. Thanks. George

WinXP hides the Profiles, and, thus the Inbox is inaccessible, unless you "unhide" the files. So, if you just copied a file which came up from a Search, you should click on the Profile Location link of the link which I gave you. The "Note" will tell you how to unhide the files, and then do your thing.
The file which you turned up was probably a leftover of NS4.x, from its Users folder. In theory, you should be able to right click|copy that file, though old (if you do not have NS4.x), and right click|paste it into the new mail folder, but you have to find it first. Good luck!
