I have Word 2003 on my computers and was able to convert Word -> Pdf.
Suddenly this seems to have disappeared after I upgraded to SP2 and did Word updates from MS update. Did MS lose the right to use the converter?
The converter still exists in Word Perfect. Anyone know how to restore this capability?

Look for a freeware PRIMO PDF. It'll convert any printable Windows file to PDF. It works like a Mac, the option is a PRINTER option.

ackerberg--Do you have Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader installed?
The third paragraph of this reference may be of interest
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word/HA011683331033.aspx
But when I did a quick search at the Adobe site, I found references to PDFMaker and PDFPlugIns, both seemingly to be used only with Acrobat, not Reader.

I fixed the problem by going to install/uninstall for Adobe Acrobat and then proceeded to the option which lets me repair Acrobat if there is a problem. It discovered the problem and proceeded to fix it. Afterward there was a message when it started up that was related to an upgrade to v6.01. There was also a fix for that which I did. This fixed both Acrobat and MS Word. Apparently there should be an Acrobat Printer in your printer list and somehow this was removed but I have no idea how that happened.
    Thanks for all your help.
