    Hi
One of these windows updates made my sisters computer go into a continuous reboot
    KB923689
    KB926255

Not sure which one yet, Has any one heard of any problems with these?

It says that they can be removed in Add/Remove but I could not find them there. Where do I look for them??
(Edit, OK Found how to see updates, so disregard above line)
    Used HJT to remove them

    updates causes constant reboot

I may have had the same problem and now I don't know if I should continue with windows updates. On Sat 15, I downloaded the recommended updates, then tried to restart my computer and it would only reboot again and again and again. I could not start in SAFE mode and last know config did not work either. I turned off automatic restart with failure and finally was able to see error message "Fatal system error" with a code of 0xC000021a. After much anguish, I tried a repair with my xp disk and that brought my machine back to life. Luckily, I did not loose any of my programs or data but I did loose all of the windows updates since I originally installed xp. I am using a dsl wirespeed modem with a netgear router and xp firewall. I do not want to worry about security issues but I am afraid to install any windows updates. Any suggestions for me?

    Thanks in advance.

When you went to Add and Remove make certain the box next to "Show Updates" has a check in it. The box is on the top a little right of center. This will permit Windows Updates to show. Then just uninstall what you wish.

    Hello gradonray,

You can't operate without the security patches.

My suggestion is to re install the updates by changing the MS Update options in the Control Panel > Security Center > Automatic Updates to: download them and not install, and then install them a little at a time when disconnected from the Net. And don't install the most recent ones that created the problem.

    Regards - Charles
