Running a DOS program called Calmap which is a EFI controller, the window displays properly on my Dell desktop running XP but I get candy strips (blank vertical lines) when I run the program on a Gateway laptop running XP. Have tried adjusting every setting I can find, any ideas what could be causing it and how to correct it?

    TIA

Are you sure it is a DOS based program? It states that the software is for Win2K and up. If you are Chris that posted on the Corvette forums is it messing up visually on both the desktop PC and the laptop?

1 and the same, small world lol

It runs in DOS so I assume it is a DOS program, program I am running is Calmap 6.32 http://members.aol.com/bigturbo1/ecms.html

Runs fine on my old (and I mean OLD) Zenith laptop and on my Dell desktop but I get the candy striping on my Gateway (sister's old computer) running XP.

BTW Have uninstalled and reinstalled 2 times with no change. I also checked and the laptop is communicating with the car's on board computer although I cannot read the screen clearly

Had that problem also but I was able to change the USB port to COM1 and that was cured.

I checked a ton of settings and my laptop mirrors my desktop. I tried to change the captability setting with no luck, assume if I do not need to do it on the desktop I should not have to on the laptop.
