    Problem with Browser "Add-On"

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Running IE 7. A browser add-on is giving me trouble. It won't allow IE to even open....It starts to open then just disappears. Anyway, I can open by disabling add-ons. Problem is, when I open with add-ons disabled, now I am not able to manage my add-ons in the tools menu, the "manage add-ons" is "grayed out ". I believe the add-on giving me trouble is called aminrul.dll. WinPatrol shows it in the IE Helpers tab, but it won't delete it. Can anybody help?

    Thanx

You can open the internet options dialog without IE open by right clicking on the IE icon on the desktop and choosing properties. If you don't have IE on the desktop you can use control panel>internet options.

BigBadRadDad--Have you run a search on your harddrive for aminrul.dll? (Are you sure you spelled that correctly?) If so, where do you find it? If you right click on it|Properties can you learn anything about the program with which it is associated from the General or Version tab? Have you tried deleting in Safe Mode?
An idea here, but it seems a bit drastic

    File Check

Please have the following file scanned at VirusTotal :
    • aminrul.dll
Click the Browse button and point the scanner to the file, then hit the send button and wait for the result.

You can use Windows search to find the full path of the file on your system.

Post back with the results of the scan.

I honestly think your system has malware.
