is it possible for a user to to have access to files in a share where they can modify the file but not be able to move or delete it? If so, how? I can't figure it at all.

    thanks

There are extra file permissions that you can set. Have a look at this reference:

    http://technet2.microsoft.com/Windo...5547-4df8-90f0-4d885dc302e71033.mspx?mfr=true

To get to this level of permissions:
    1. Right click on the file and select properties.
    2. Click on the Advanced button
    3. Select the permission entry for the user or group you want to control and click on the View/Edit button.
    4. In the following screen you can deny individual properties. For example, you can prevent delete.
You can stop the file being deleted. That may also stop it being moved, but you'll have to check that.
