I am using Netscape 7.2 and Windows XP SP2.
Recently I subscribed for a couple of newsgroups.
However, I noticed that when trying to search within a large newsgroup, I get an error:

    - A News (NNTP) error occured: Temporarely disabled -

    No further information.

This problem does NOT occur when using Outlook.

Can anybody help or tell me how to solve this error.

    Thanks,

    Ed K.

    Welcome to the Forum EWKeuris!

    Ed,

Is this a Newsgroup that is within your ISP domain. I ask because that error is usually the result of attempting to access an NNTP news server that isn't in your domain, unless it's a public server. Use your default news host, the one your service provider supplies, to access any group that they carry. If they don't carry the group, you may see "no such group" or the group may have few if any articles, or in your case, it is temporarily disabled.

    News NNTP Error

Yes, these newsgroups are in my ISP domain. (At least as far as I know).
The news groups are reached via the news server from my ISP.
Apart from that, suppose that you are right, then why does this problem not occur when using Outlook Express?

    regards, Ed
