Are Gmail "invites" still working? I have a Gmail address and wanted to get another one, so I sent an "invite" invitation to myself. But that was several days ago and I haven't heard anything at all from Gmail. I did it twice to make sure I didn't make a mistake, but there was no response from either one. So is the "invite" system still working, and, if so, how long does it take to get a response?

    Thanks for any comments.

I sent my brother one last week and it worked fine...I think sending one to yourself defeats the purpose of inviting people to use the free service. If you have a hotmail account or something similar you could probably use it ok..

Roger at CCCC--Are you sending the new invitation to your existing gmail.com address or to the same email address you used for the first invitation? Perhaps choose another email address if you have one. You can always make one at yahoo.com, etc.

Try going to your Gmail account you sent the invitations from and check the "Sent" Folder. If invitations are there, open it and possible you can click on the link it contains ... which takes you to the Gmail "Create new account" screen.

    very strange

Thanks, Dennis, for the suggestion. I did in fact look in my Gmail Sent folder and sure enough there were BOTH of the Gmail "invites" that I had sent, along with the link to the Create new account webpage. But I never received the "invites" at the address to which they were mailed. I suppose that could be because I mailed them to myself, but I think I still should have seen them in my inbox. So I don't know what happened. I haven't tried the links in the Sent mail folder yet, because I already decided to create a hotmail account which worked much faster. So thanks for the suggestion.

Odds are Gmail blocked the invites you sent to yourself...As I mentioned, it defeats the purpose...

    GMail invites

    Yes the invites still work.
When you send it to your own account think it labels it as an email from "self ".
Should take no more than `5 minutes . It is not instant.
Check your spam folder or try sending it to another account.
Lastly do you have any left ?
Maybe you used up your allotment.
