im thinking about getting rid of aol entirely on my other computer. can you keep your aol email account if you dont have aol anymore? ive got an email account set up at 2 other internet sites but if i send stuff im afraid it wont work and i know i cant change to them on my windows bbs profile. any help appreciated. i did switch to free aol on the computer and by phone call and they said it was switched to totally free but im not holding my breath. ill believe that when i dont see a charge this month. plus i dont think they can charge me anymore as the credit card we signed on with years ago expired and wasnt renewed or updated. :)

    I would not think so.
 - Click on UserCP on the menu bar below the MVP logo and look in the left column 'Edit email and password'.

The headline on this AOL page is, "Your Email Address Is Yours To Keep...For Free." It's something AOL implemented a few months ago.

Information about it is on that page.

If it's any consolation, even if you lose access to your AOL email account, you will still be able to have access to your AIM account and buddies list. I stopped using AOL for a dial-up ISP years ago, yet to this day I still can log onto AIM, with GAIM.
