I have gone through this entire forum looking for the answer to my question, but haven't found it, so here goes:

I have just recently set up a wireless network consisting of 2 computers. The first is running Windows 2000, and the other is Windows XP SP2. Everything is working great except for 2 things:

    1) I can't seem to be able to share files or folders from one computer to the other.

    2) My Windows XP computer can't find any Printers connected to the Windows 2000 computer.

If anyone could help me out with these issues, it would be greatly appreciated.
(I can get more specific if needed)

    Printer and file sharing

Welcome to the world of networking .
There is a sequence of steps which most likely you have done of setting up the network and allowing folders to be shared.
You often have to install the printer drivers on both computers.
I had a similar situation with 2 xp computers ( home) last week.
The printer was a new high end brother business color lwith a big sticker easy to network.
Lots of luck no matter what.
After all of this effort I installed a program called " Network Magic "

    http://www.networkmagic.com/nmlp/home-networking.php?src=google&kw=network magic

in one swoop without installing any printer software the 2nd computer was set up seeing the number of printers that had been installed at various times at computer number one. Printed on the one remote printer without a hitch.
The first 30 days are trial with printer and file sharing. After that the program reverts to a basic version without file and printer sharing.

Always try to make life simple and easy.

The latest version ( version 4) seems to work with all of the win 98 se up. I know you need service packs with 2000 and xp.

I tried installing the printer driver, but it still won't recognize it as being connected to the network (and yes the network is connected). I think the problem is that My XP computer seems to not be able to find my win. 2000 computer in the Workgroup? any recommendations?

    Firewalls blocking network setup ?

Did the program Network Magic set up the network ?
Also check to see that any firewalls are disabled or restricted permissions in Windows 2000 Professional .
Always these little things get in the way.
