If I use the plain Windows Update site - it suggests an updated driver.
(I install it and everything works OK)

But if I try looking for the same update in the "Drivers download" section (on WU site) - I can't find it there.

    Why?

Perhaps the question "why?" need not be answered. It's always best to get driver updates from the hardware manufacturer than windows update anyway as the drivers at WU are not always the latest ones and often cause more problems.

Rule of Thumb for drivers is "if the device is working properly then leave well enough alone ".

Where those updated versions come from (when I do the WU) if I can't see them in the "drivers download" part of the same WU service?

(Does such edition of my initial question make more sence for you, Tony?)

RE "don't fix if it ain't broke" is the total offtopic here.

Not sure "where" the update is located at the update site after you install it. It's been a while since I did any updates. I do recall a section there like "view installed updates" or "history" or something like that. Obviously, since you already installed the driver update, it won't be listed as an available update anymore, so look for something like "history" or "view installed updates ".

English is not my native, the same, seems, applyes to you too...

All updates are supposed to be listed on WU site, aren't they?

If a driver update is suggested as available by WU, why it is not always possible to locate it in the corresponding part of the "Drivers download "?

Don't you mean to say that since I've downloaded a file from WU - there is no copyes of it left on WU for others to download?!

    Please, stop trolling.
If you do not know the answer - do not answer at all...

I think your best bet is to ask Microsoft.

Would you please calm down - whether or not you accept the replies to your posts is entirely up to you and your last response borders on the offensive - we call it 'flaming' - derogatory remarks, etc.

Any more and I will have no hesitation in either suspending you or banning you.

    Here's how it works:
    1. Go to Windows Update.
    2. Download & install update #22.
Next time you go to Windows Update #22 is not shown because you already have it & do not need it.

Somewhere at the Windows Update site is a link you can click to look at the updates that you already downloaded & installed. Go to Windows Update & find that link.

Perhaps those links will be helpful.

The drivers in question are for MS products of course, we all understand that don't we? :) If you have downloaded them from the Update site, they will no longer be presented to you since your Registry has been flagged accordingly. You could still get them a second time from the link listed. However, if you really needed them, they would be offered on the Updater site. If any of your friends needed them, they would be presented the opportunity on the Updater site since their Registry has not yet been flagged. MS is merely trying to keep you from going to the trouble of downloading and installing something you don't need.
