MSOffice missing icons

    I have installed MSOffice 200 on W2KPro on a new machine. It is behaving differently thatn I am used to. While The programs are installed & work properly, but they do not have the MSoffice icons associated with them inthe Programs folder.

    I can start an Excel sheet & save it to the desktop, but the icon is a generice ICon & I don't how to assicate the Excel icon. The Opeb with list does show the excel icon as avalable.


    Any help will be much appreciated.

    Hold down the shift key, right-click on one of the "generic" icons and select "Open with ". Scroll down the list and make the correct assocation. Be sure to check the "Always ... " box when doing this.

    Did that BRett & the icon for the spreadsheet on the desktop still remains generic.

    Have you hit refresh or rebooted since? Did any of the icons change back? Have you gone into one of your office programs and tried the repair feature?
