    Hi

i amtrying to setup a remote access to my University workstation whih is Windows XP Pro 64bit edition. the client is laptop which runs on Windows XP Pro.

i believe i followed all the needed instructions to set up the workstation as a server and the laptop as a client and when i tried to access the workstation from the laptop it gives me this error:

"Beause of a protool error detected at the lient (code 0X1104) this session willbe disconneted "

i keep getting this massage despite that both the client and the server are conneted to teh same network.

i am afraid that i am stuck to Windows RDP because the University has setup a firewall and they only allow connections that come through port 3389.

i installed UltraVNC program and tried to use it instead of Win RDP but for some reason i cant assign port 3389 to the ultraVNC.

would you please help me to solve this problem (either using Win RDP or ultraVNC)?

    cheers

    Welcome to the forum haythame78

It looks like the error you are getting is consistent with the required ports being blocked by a firewall.

I think the best solution is for you to talk to your university network administrators, explaining what you want and asking for help to achieve it. I think the only advice we can offer would circumvent the university's security policy and therefore would not be in line with what we try to do here.
