Why do I now have .cda files.....

    I have a problem with my XP system that I'd like to kill..... Back before my formatting of my harddrive and the reloading of XP on this machine, I could pop in a CD and play the files as MP3s- they showed up as MP3s and I could transfer them as so. Now, after the reboot, they are showing up as CDAs and transfering as cdas. Does anyone know what setting has been lost between the installs and what I can do to get them back?

    I'll pass on what setting has been lost and point you to this article FWIW ....

    What is CDA?

    You may have lost a codec in the reformat.

    Wow, almost forgot I had this one started.... I've read through all of the stuff you guys gave me and I'm a bit lost. If I've lost a codec, where do I get them exactly?
