Each time I try to open a .pdf file (I use MSN Explorer) the browser closes down.
I have updated versions of Adobe and Acrobat, also Firefox has no problem with .pdf files, once I allow scripts.
Am I correct in thinking that I just need to find the correct box to tick in IE7 Advanced settings? If so which?

    Cheers...

    Maybe...

    Hello Ellaine,
I had such problem when IE6 came out. So I uninstalled acrobat reader, reboot and reinstall it, with the latest version, of course. Maybe it seems too simple but hey, it was fast and effective.
    Hope it will help...
    Let us know.

Check out the settings in Acrobat Reader ....

Edit > Preferences > Internet and ensure that all 3 boxes are checked and also set your internet speed. May help, may not :)

EllainePoole--I believe MSN Explorer is only a shell over IE, and I have heard there are some incompatibility problems between IE7 and MSN Explorer. Perhaps that is your problem
    http://www.google.com/search?source...-38,GGLG:en&q=IE7+problems+with+msn+Explorer?
However unless you revert to IE6 (which you can do from Control Panel|Add/Remove--IE7 is under Windows) I agree a reinstallation of Reader cannot hurt.
Also I am curious whether you are trying to open the .pdf file directly from the internet or attachment to an email, or whether you first download it and try open from there. There are some settings in Reader which govern opening directly from the browser. (Reader Edit|Preferences|Internet)

Life's too short for this B.S!!!
Uninstalled and reinstalled latest Adobe...after several attempts . (IE7 was blocking installation activex controls)...Changed speed settings as sugested in Adobe Internet...nada...no further forward. Each time I click a link to .pdf MSN closes.

Firefox, just does it. Opens without any fuss.

I need to get to the bottom of this but I've had enough today AAAAAAAGH!!!

    Thanks guys...much appreciated...honest :)

    Any other ideas?
