Hello. I have installed the latest Update from Microsoft wich includes the Internet Explorer 7.

The Logitech Optical PS/2 mouse I have, following the instalation..its center Wheel (scroll).. when used the Web Page will continually Scroll " . If I use it to Scroll.

I have tried adjust the Optical Mouse in the Control Panel. Set it for example to Scroll a different amount of lines. 2,3 etc. But this has no effect on the Scrolling Internet Explorer 7 window.

Have read several Microsoft KB articles wich speak of a situation in wich the Microsoft Optical mouse,on a certain MBs BIOS problem,..will cause a 'packet problem'in communicating information between the programs relying on mouse input. But this is just assumption.

Perhaps this is some kind of new feature, that is called maybe 'perpetual scrolling. But Im use to letting go of my mouse. Having the screen remain in adjustment. I can only think that if it is a feature, that there is an Internet Explorer 7 adjustment somewhere. [ ]

or that there is a joking activex doing this.[ ] and bad.

However what is the suggestion ? Re-install the Logitech Optical mouses software,..to include the Drivers for it. [ ]

Maybe Internet Explorer 7 damaged the mouse driver. Didn't have the problem with the previous version of Internet Explorer.

-tried clearing the cache for Internet Explorer 7
    - tried adjusting the Mouse Properties within Control Panel.

    *running XP Home Editon.

    *still using Abit Kt-7 MB.

Yes IE 7 ..Tools-Internet Options and..

    Advanced..Then at "Browsing" , ..

I have "Use Smooth Scrolling ". This remains unchecked.

Actually I 'Enabled this setting. The screen rolling is not as pronounced. Enable "Use Smooth Scrolling ".

So this doesn't really change a lot. Doesn't seem like a naturally occuring situation. To have something as a Newtonian momemtum - such as a filled up shopping cart continuing beyond ones hold of it. Funny but true.

If anybody else complains about this,at least you know about it here. I will just re-install the mouse driver. And see if this persists. Then post back.

Thanks for reply.Any other suggestions would be welcomed.:(

    Using IE Explorer Version...

    ................. "7 ". ?
The 'Use Smooth Scrolling" ( a checkbox), I have is under 'Browsing ",then below "Underline Links" . A few lines below it. Above "HTTP 1.1 Settings ".

Note:The 'Clear Font Option" for Internet Explorer 7 also does not change this perpetual scrolling.

Also note: I haven't re-installed my mouse driver.
    :p

    This is unrelated to ClearType.

    Well....

    Re-installed the 'Logitech Mouseware'. From Logitech.com .

The Driver reads March 2003,replacing something of the same for 2002 of a Microsoft Certified driver.Device Manager,USB..Human Interface Devices ..-where the Mouse is.

Is a Setting for Slowing Acceleration,or Turning it off completly. And a Setting for Disabling Acceleration in Games" (set by default as using this).

Mouse runs like a sharp shooter. Slippery as a fish. So I chose to Slow Down Acceleration. Didn't notice the Settings mentioned in last paragraph with last Control Panel-Mouse.

Doesn't seemto Scroll uncontrolably within Web Pages,in IE 7 now. A last the last two Web Pages I have accesed since putting the Logitech MouseWare software on. Replacing the Mouse Driver.

Going is difficult with a machine about 4 years old for Updating devices. Unless they are new.

Did the trick. I'll see I guess.
    :D
