I don't think my IE6 is working properly.....I have a disc and was going to uninstall it and then reinstall it.....it isn't listed in Add/Remove programs?? So how do I uninstall the thing?? When I try to run my disc it just says that IE is already installed on this machine?? On my other computer I could go to add/remove and then choose to "repair" the installation.
I didn't use the disc to install it....it was part of my XP system install I guess. Anyway it was present after I reinstalled my OS.
hopefully someone can explain to me how I can uninstall it??

The pre-requisite steps are discussed here:
    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;318378

But do yourself a favor and run IEFix by MS-MVP Ramesh Srinivasan first before contemplating a complete reinstallation: http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/IEFIX.htm

Be sure to enable the SFC /Scannow option in the utility.

Here is a picture-based tutorial on downloading and doing a reinstallation of IE 6: http://www.compu-docs.com/ieadmininstall.htm

My only comment is that when you get to the last part of running the reinstallation, if there are any problems, please use this command:

    ie6setup.exe /c: "ie6wzd.exe /d:1 /s:" "#E"

And be sure to head to Windows Update afterwards.

This command is case sensitive, and the quotation marks and spacing are important.
