Has there been a permanaent fix for the annoying problem of swithing indentities and having outllok express shut down? I have been using the workaround of going to task manager and clicking on the process of msimn.exe and ending process. I then get the identity.

You do not need to use Task Manager at all.

If the identity has a different account than the identity currently being used on Outlook Express, use the Switch Identities feature. The close and reopen with the new Identity is automatic. The close and reopen issue is not modifiable.

Consider though moving to an all Web-based email client. Hotmail, Gmail, Windows Live Mail, and now AOL mail are free and often exceed the capabilities of OE. (And you do not have to shutdown to use a new identity). Most ISPs offer a mail forwarding feature. Create a free account with one of the Web-based clients mentioned earlier, and forward your ISP email to your new account.

For example, I currently use (and like very much) Gmail. To that single Gmail account I forward six mailboxes.

If you need a Gmail invitation to join, send me PM.

    Regards.
