I've been downloading and installing some new drivers, and now when I start up I get that some application called "TrayApp" is trying to install but can't. Fine, I just cancel --- but it won't go away unless I do a Ctrl-Alt-Del on it.
Has anyone heard of this? Does anyone know how I can make it go away and not come back?

    HP scanner or printer installed?
It wants its CD so that it can install the Tray Icon control application.

TrayApp gone but handle is invalid

Bill, that got rid of the TrayApp thingy, but now, when I try to print, I get a "The handle is invalid." Do you know what that means?

It means there is an issue with the installation of the printer drivers.
HP is very fussy. For example, the driver installation will fail if the printer is connected to the computer; you have to wait for a prompt to connect the printer.

Go to the HP website and find the section for your printer. Most printer models have new drivers available, and some have an HP wizard that will automaticly update your printer drivers. In any case, disconnect the printer and head to HP's web site for a new driver set to install.
