One of the users at my company is having an issue with her new VAIO. Everytime when she goes to shutdown the computer, it hangs and will not shutdown, unless the power button is used. I've tried updating her system, but I'm having the same problem when it tries to reboot and hangs.

If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate them on how to fix this. I'm currently running the Recovery Console to see if its just something wrong with her OS, but it is a brand-new laptop (purchased less than 2 days ago).

    Thanks.

    Programs Installed

I would make sure all of the programs are updated. I had a similar problem and it was a matter of updating everything.

May want to check in Event Viewer, could provide some clues.
