    Hi, I just d/l ie 7. There was a little setup at beginning to make the monitor clearer. Can I undo this? If not how do I uninstall IE7?

    Tools, Internet Options, Advanced
    Under the Multimedia Subhead, uncheck:
    Allways use Clear Type for HTML*

    * Requires resetart

    Thanks Bill, I switched back to ie6. Really did'nt like 7. The thing you told me to check is not available in 6. My monitor is blurry now. Not sharp crisp type.

    No it is not, but I read your original post as a question about IE 7.

    If you have reverted IE 7 back to IE 6, make sure you go an check any settings in Internet Options you may have made to correct monitor issues in IE 7.

    The only other setting for ClearType appears here:

    Right click a blank area of the desktop, Properties, Appearance, Effects.
    Uncheck if needed 'Method to be used to smooth edges of screen fonts' of ClearType is enabled.

    If you made any changes under Display Properties, they would not be reverted by changing back to IE 6 either. Check to make sure things are as you wanted. If possible, you could use System Restore to a point earlier than your installation of IE 7.

    Hi Bill: unchecking Method to be used to smooth edges of screen fonts' of ClearType made it look better. Did'nt want to restore. Never did that before. Thank you very much!

    You are very welcome.
    You might want to practice a System Restore.

    Start, Help and Support, and manually use the System Restore applet there to create a new restore point.

    Then ceate a new Desktop Shortcut.

    Then run System Restore and do a restoration.

    The desktop shortcut should disappear without error messages.
    This tells you things are okay with System Restore.
