    Hi, just found this site, looks like a perfect place to get an answer to my problem!

    I did have a quick look and didn't find a simular problem/thread but if there is one, I appologise...

    My Prob;

    USB devices don't work (iPod, Digital Camera, Flash Drives), however, they do show up in device manager. They do not show up in "My Computer" and they are not found by associated software. I have tried everything that I could find on the Microsoft USB troubleshooting section to no avail. I have also removed my PCI USB card and replaced it to different slots, also no good.

    I think this co-incided with a re-installation of Windows due to a boot up problem I was having. I then re-installed SP2 and all the updates that it needed... But I am not sure because I didn't actually attempt to use any USB devices for some time after that reinstallation...

    Any help would be great.

    When you reinstalled Windows did you reinstall the chipset drivers for your mobo?

    No, I don't believe I did. I will try it now and see what happens.

    If it was a chipset level driver issue the USB devices would not appear in Device Manager.

    Well, I was just about to post that I have re-installed the chipset and it has made no difference...

    iPod still comes up in a pop up window saying "found new device ", "found Apple iPod ", "Installed and ready for use" and then does nothing...

    I am trying your registry fix now.

    :)

    Worked a treat.

    However, in the tutorial, it tells you where in the registry the files should be, they were actually in the opposite folders...

    Still worked though.

    Thanks very much.
