Restore is the only repair!

I have a pc that is hooked thru Embarq Internet Service, when it works it works great but about every day or so something happens & I cannot connect to the internet, it shows my connection is fine but shows the error of website not found. If I do a restore to the day it was working it will be ok. I have fixed & not touched but I do leave the system on come back in a day & it will be not working so I don't think it is something I'm doing. Is there anyway I can see what changes while I'm away? Please Help!!!

 

What happens if you power cycle the machine fully off, then on again?
What happens if you use the Repair option by right clicking the notification tray icon?
When was the last time you had your computer scanned for viruses?
When was the last time you had your computer scanned for spyware?
Does the machine standby or hibernate while left on?

Please let us know:

The network adapter make and model.
How recent is the driver for the adapter.
Whether standby or hibernation is used.
Whether your ISP has an inactivity disconnection timer.
Your ISP name and service type.
Whether other means of restoring your connection other than System Restore have been tried, and the results.
Antivirus and Antispyware software used.

Nothing it still won't find anything.

Nothing it doesn't act like it is not connected it will still show 100 mb

I do a scan everyday

When was the last time you had your computer scanned for spyware?

I do a scan once a week

Does the machine standby or hibernate while left on?

Standby

How recent is the driver for the adapter. 6/13/05 is the latest Ver 8.0.21.0

Whether other means of restoring your connection other than System Restore have been tried, and the results. I have tried going thru setup on IE but that didn't matter nothing I tried worked unless I do a restore.

The intel adapter needs new drivers.

It is a known issue that the older drivers cannot successfully negotiate coming out of c3 power states from standby or hibernate.
