Phantom folder & Vanishing icons??

Hi, I made the changes that are in my last thread, about cd-r & cd-rw.
Now have a folder that opens up on desktop at completion of boot. Have checked msconfig,start folders. No luck. Also at some point the icons for 3 programs that I know are running vanish from task bar(clk. area) TIA busterb

 

Never found out what was causing the folder to pop up. I moved it to another drive, thinking that something would pop up, error message,etc. Nothing came up. So it's gone. busterb

 

Thanks for the feedback. I must have missed this thread the first time around.

Are your icons still going into never-never land? If so, which ones?

 

Hello.The icons have decided to stay home, by the clock. Have not a clue what happened. busterb
