You can set IE 7 to automatically clear Temporary Internet files when the browser is closed by navigating Tools > Internet Options > Advanced tab and scrolling down to Security and checking 'Empty Temp Internet ......'.

I am not aware of an automatic setting for History and Cookies - this can be done manually - Tools > Internet Options - General - Browsing History and choose what you want to delete.

Under the Settings button on the General - Browsing History page you can set the number of days to retain a list of visited websites to 0 (zero) which has basically the same effect as deleting History on shutting the browser.

Under Tools > Internet Options > Privacy tab you can select which cookies you are prepared to allow by setting the slider to an appropriate level.

pumpy1--This has nothing to do with your question for a way to automatically delete TIF, Cookies, etc., but I thought you might be interested.
My earlier experience with IE6 indicated that the index.dat file in TIF was not cleaned out when using IE6's various methods of cleaning the rest of TIF. That index.dat can grow to an unnecessarily large size (with much of the data being useless, since it pertains to the other, eliminated TIF files).
A program called System Security System will allow index.dat to be cleaned when you clean TIF.

It is highly configurable. To just delete TIF and its index.dat, check the tab Temporary Files in the Internet Explorer column. You can see other boxes to delete Cookies, History, etc.
It seems to work fine in IE7, or at least I have seen no problems since installing IE7.
(I suspect a good programmer could write a script to have SSS run automatically.)

CCleaner is configurable, and can be scheduled as you like; including automaticly at system start.

It can clean Temporary Internet File, Cookies, History, Index files, TEMP directories, MRU lists, Typed URLs and more. Will work for Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, Microsoft Office and other applications at your selection.

    Freeware.
(Choose the Basic edition without the Yahoo Toolbar)
