Outlook 2003 subject appearing as boxes

Hi guys.

I'm tearing my hair out over this one.

One of my users on the exchange 2003 box are sending boxes as the subject in some of their emails.

The emails generally look like
Subject: 敍扭牥⁳敍瑥湩g

(which appear as boxes)

It only seems to happen when using some contacts/ groups.

It does not happen to other members of the exchange server or to various test external accounts.

The emails are being sent in English with no funny characters. I have checked the localized versions etc which are all English.

I even reinstalled outlook, which didn't make any difference.

Has anyone came across this before?

Outlook version 2003 (11.8010.8107)
