Hello ThisGirlRox welcome to the forum.

Well I can see pretty quick what the potential problem is:
    C:\Program Files\Acceleration Software\Anti-Virus\stopsignav.exe
    C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVGFRE~1\avgemc.exe

two anti virus apps running simultaneously. Not only will this cause severe performance issues, it will likely leave you less protected than you think.

See which one works best on your machine, tho I'd lean more towards AVG, its lots more dependable and its 'street cred' is far more soothing to the palette.

Other than that, I only see a few lines which are not default settings to fix. No malware at all.

Run HijackThis! and fix the following lines:

    R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://google.bearshare.com/

    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL =
    http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=54729

    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL =
    http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=54896

    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page =
    http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=54896

    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page =
    http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=55245&clcid={SUB_CLCID}

Once you remove one of those av apps, you're likely to see a noticeable improvement.

Thank you TeMerc. But I only just downloaded StopSign two days ago and I downloaded it BECAUSE the comp was running so bad. When I do a StopSign Scan it tells me the computer is infected with Trojan.Isbar.439. But when I run AVG it says I am virus/malware free. Of course Stop Sign wants me to purchase their program in order to get rid of this "virus" but I am not even sure my comp is infected.

I will remove the lines you recommend and see if it helps at all.

Fixing those lines will not help browsing\surfing in any way.

Your problem lies elsewhere within the system, unrelated to malware. Have you done any maintenance recently, such as System File Checker or ChkDsk? If not I would as between the two, you can see a significant overall increase in performance on your system.

Have you made any other additions to the system at all, aside from the Stop sign software, maybe there is another item slowing things down.

Needless to say, your system is not infected, but thats the way Stopsign does business. I'd remove it and be sure you tell your Friends to stay away from it too.

    Is it fixed?

Hi, so did removing the lines fix your problem?

also, may i ask how much free space you have on your hard drive(s)?

If you have less than 10 GB on each drive/partition. Then you should remove any programmes you dont use and then do a defrag. Instructions are below

Firstly, Un install any programmes you dont use or dont intend on using.

    Disk Clean-up
    Start
    Run
    Type "cleanmgr.exe" and hit enter
select a drive to clean up (if promted)
Clean up all un-nesasary files an all hard drives

    Defrag
    Start
    Run
    Type "defrag.exe" and hit enter
    defrag all hard drives

You should notice more of an improvement
