Windows Player 11 manual update option?

I must be blind but where is the option to update manually. The only choices I see are to automatically check once a day, once a week, and once a month???

 

In Windows media player 10 and all previous versions, I had the option of checking for updates when I want to check. There was an update function that I could use to check for updates any time. This was in addition to the option of once a day, week, or month.

 

Alicia J--I have no idea whether the setting you mention for Automatic Updates really means that. It may mean that WMP will just Check for Updates. In fact that is what the subheading says. That would allow you to decide to install or not. WMP11 is so new that it is hard to tell.
When you right click on the little WMP icon at the very top left of the WMP window you will be offered all sorts of functions. You have found one, Tools|Options. Another "Help ", offers sub-options among which "Check for Updates ". That suggests WMP will allow manual updates, but who knows?
