xp freezes shortly after start

    XP freezes up just after starting, I can run in safe and diagnostic mode OK.
    What do I need to do to find the problem?

    Start, Run, eventvwr.msc

    What do the Event Logs say about the freeze?

    Next, unplug any USB devices except Mouse or Keyboard.
    Restart in Normal mode.

    Report what happens.

    I saw another post about updating drivers .. updated video and sound card ...
    problem gone.
