My son sent me a DVD of his retirement ceremony and it is on a DVD-R disk. I have a burner that will burn any but all I have is DVD+R disks at the present--is it possible to copy the program from the DVD-R format and burn to a DVD+R disk? I might be doing something wrong as I put the program in my DVD player and a DVD+R in my burner and it burns a disk for me and I close it and it plays fine on my computer but not in my Sony DVD player hooked to my TV, it will play other DVD+R disk that I have burned from an ISO image. My Sony player says it will play all formats.

I would make an ISO image of the DVD you need to copy. Do not do a DVD to DVD copy. Create the ISO using Nero or Roxio then burn it to the other type formatted disk. This should resolve your problem.
