Shutting down prossesors

    I`m running windows xp pro with service pack 2 ...............so I hope this is the right forum to ask this question...........

    In my task manager I have 41 prossesors running ..............how do I know which ones to close down safely , and will they be re activated every time I shut down windows & re- boot.?
