I was wondering if there is anyone that might know of a pretty good third-party Email notification program that would be able to monitor my POP3 email and send me an alert notifying my when there is email. I have 5 email accounts and the ones I have found so far have been able to recognize the first email address on the list but after that they fail to connect to the rest of them.

I appreciate any information you can pass on.

Sfantasia--What is the email application you are using? Outlook Express?
If so, OE Tools|Accounts, click Properties for each account (separately) and, on the General tab, check the box "Include this account... "|Apply|OK. The icon should show in the Notification Tray when any account with that box checked gets email.

Yes I do use Outlook Express however I want to be able to receive notification when Outlook Express is not running. In other words I am looking for a third-party program that monitors the email at the server and gives me the ability to read the headers and the first several lines and also allows me to delete it without having to open Outlook Express. In the past I have been using an add-on of ICQ which was called "Check email at server" however in the past several days it seems that the add-on isn't working any more. I have found a couple of free ones but they do not work for multiple accounts and I really am hesitant to install free software of this type.

Say I just wanted to pass on a bit of information. I have found a really neat program that solves my problem and works with any window. It is called Trayit and is just a small program that doesn't install but runs on command and what it does is, when it's running, any window that is open can be minimized into a system task bar icon next to the clock rather than a tab on the main task bar. In my case I just put it in a folder on my C: drive and created a shortcut and placed the shortcut in the Start Up folder of the Start Menu. Know when I open my Outlook Express the first time and check my mail instead of just closing it down I do a Ctr/Click on the minimize tab and it closes the window but keeps the icon in the System Task Bar. Now when I get new mail I get a notification every so often depending on the time Option I selected in the configuration of the Outlook Express. Try it you'll like it. http://www.teamcti.com/trayit/trayit.htm

Sfantasia--Thanks for passing this on. Not sure I see the advantage of TrayIt compared to just leaving OE running, but maybe others will.
Have you looked in TaskManager when you have used TrayIt on OE to see if msimn.exe is indeed not running?

Sorry I guess I wasn't clear. Outlook express is running in the background but when it is minimized it is just an Icon in the task bar rather than the tab which is sometimes 2" wide. Once there is a notification sound I just click on the icon and the OE window opens and I read the mail. It doesn't give me that ability to delete at server like ICQ used to do but I still get notifications and I do not have a big tab in the task bar. Since I usually have many widows open because I do a lot of multi tasking this kind of keeps it a little more organized since I can identify the Icon. As you can see from the screen shot: http://salfantasia.us/MyPicture3.gif as I am making this reply I also have 4 other windows open which are hard to identify by the labels however the OE window which is minimized is shown as the first Icon to the right of the < button. I hope this is clearer.
