No wallpaper, Used Spybot, Ad-ware, Avg spy/anti-virus, HJT Logs inside!

Just signed up and I already read a thing or two about spyware and taking care of it. I recently had to re-install my windows because the previous one could open any .exe file it said that 'the file couldnt be found' for any file I tried to open even internet explorer or anti-viruses. So i re-installed it, now the second day of having the new windows, the wallpaper disappears so I searced on the net to find a solution and from this site I found out that it maybe a spyware or adware.. so i scanned my pc with Norton antivirus 2006, Ang Anti-virus Updated, Avg Spyware Updated, Ad-aware Scanner updated, spybot updated and Hijackthis. I came acroos a couple of RED files and enteries and I have deleted them so far but the wallpaper hasn't returned and the computer still feels like its infected. Is it just the wallpaper that is giving you problems? Are there any other unwanted symptoms? Let me know.

I don't see anything in your log at all to indicate any malware. What did the other scanners remove, did they offer any names for the infections? Let me know. We just have to do some minor adjustments, depending on what was found.

Also, the reason you got infected so quickly was because you are not patched up with the latest updates from MS. I advise you to hit the Windows update page immediately, before you go any further.

yes you are right, I updated my windows plus there were a few malware, cookie and registry files that were noticed after scanning with bitdefender and the wallpaper came back on. Thanks for all the help.

 

Glad to hear that worked out.

Be sure and get some protection installed. You need to remove either the Norton or AVG, running both cause more problems.

To avoid known malware infested sites from loading in IE install IESPY ADS.
And MVPS Hosts File will accomplish a similar tactic and provide another layer of protection.

And to prevent unknown applications from being inserted to start up on your machine install WinPatrol v10.0.1.

Another thing I would suggest, is to install SiteAdvisor. It gives sites a few different 'ratings' and while not fool proof, a good additional layer of information about many sites.
