Can't Creat New Folder

As far as McAfee is concerned, have you tried contacting them? If you get the run around, ie, contact Dell, I would uninstall McAfee, test whether your problem goes away minus McAfee.

EDIT, I see Steve has the same idea - try disabling McAfee first.

You would have to disable using something like MSCONFIG. The normal "disable" option is likely not sufficient to test.

 

From what I remember in purging McAfee off of systems - it won't allow itself to be disabled - certainly not thru msconfig, there are multiple processes to identify and stop. I think in the end, it has to be uninstalled.

You can try something stronger than msconfig: autoruns http://www.sysinternals.com/SystemInformationUtilities.html

Thanks, I know little about the program other than any 'Disable' function is unlikely to make the poster happy.

I have remooved Mcavee spam killer using remove/install programs in the control panel and all is ok . I can now create a folder in outlook express. I will be contacting Mcavee when I can find some contact information, it seems to be hidden, I wonder why!
