Homepage hijacked to MSN

Dear all,

I have a problem with malware and this results in my explorer homepage being set to MSN by default and my changes to the desired homepage are not maintained. Any help would be very much appreciated. Here is my hijackthis log:

Welcome to WindowsBBS forums.

I don't see anything in your log to indicate problems. Is it possible your KAV has a a homepage lock of sorts? I also recall a problem with Zone Alarm having a setting which could not be changed by default. But I can't recall the version right off.

Malware would not set your page to any legit site.

What are you using to set your homepage, IE Options in the toolbar?

Let me know about that and also if you have any other odd problems which you think may be related.

 

Three possibe programs that are locking the home page:

SpyBot > Left panel > Tools, then in the left panel again > IE Tweaks and then main panel > Miscellaneous Locks.

AVG (Ewido) AS: can't tell you where it would be if that is an option.

KAV does not as far as I know have a feature like that.

You guys are great

You have all pointed in in the right direction re my problem and removing all spyware detectors and antivirals fixed the problem. I have reinstalled them with less stringent security settings in place.
