I'm trying to find an IRC plugin for Netscape 7.2. I used to have one but a hard drive crash wiped out everything and like an idiot, my NS plugs were something I forgot to put on a backup disc.

I don't even remember what the one I used was called. I can't find it searching here, google or on the Netscape site--they only want to talk about their new junk.

Anyone have names and download locations for some of these type of plugins?

Thanks for any help you might be able to give.

Did you try Tools > Extensions > Get More Extensions?

Also, I believe that chatzilla does work for Netscape. Try the download here.

If not, just download mIRC from here.

Chatzilla. That was the name, thanks again.

Oh and NS 7.2 doesn't have Tools -> Extensions just Cookie/Popup/Form/Password/Download Manager, Search, Web Development (JavaScript & Java Consoles)

To get plugin's we used to be able to do Help -> About Plugins then click
    Code:
Find more information about browser plug-ins at Netscape.com.

There's just one problem: It won't install into my Netscape 7.2. After clicking the Install link on the mentioned page, it just keeps transferring data. I'm not sure NS7.2 can handle .xpi files as those seem to be mostly for Mozilla Suite, Firefox and Thunderbird.....

    Welcome to the Forum, BrokenDownFlier!

    BrokenDownFlier,

Click on: Edit | Preferences | Advanced | Software Installation
Insert a tick in the box next to: Enable Software Installation

    Next:
    Go to this page: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/16/

Click on the Install Now button and Chatzilla will install in Netscape 7.2.
    Close Netscape, and reopen
Click on the "Window" tab, and you will see the IRC Chat icon.

Let us know if you need further help.
