How do I stop the Startup control (by Mike Lin) in the control panel options?

How do I stop SPYbot from using it's immunize feature?

I know I could end task (but a reboot would start them again) Unchecking in msconfig is not the best choice. I'd like to stop Apps within settings of the apps.

Alicia J--I do not think StartUp Control Panel "runs" in the conventional sense. When you turn it on, it is active. When you close the window, it is off.
I do not run SpybotS&D, but I would think probably by clicking Immunize in the left panel|Undo.

    Hello Alicia,

Mike Linn's app can be stopped from starting up in msconfig or in the program's options. If this is just for installing IE7, using msconfig is IMO ok, even if it isn't the best option.

SpyBot's immunization is optional and once turned on, as Jim noted, can be undone.

    Regards - Charles

Thanks Welshjim, undo in Spybot does the trick.

I'll use msconfig for Startup control, thanks Charlesvar

    Alicia J--You are welcome.
Concerning Startup Control Panel, I try to minimize the number of programs (especially third party programs) that start on boot. That speeds up a boot and the operation of the PC since memory is not used unnecessarily.
I suggest you no longer allow StartUp Control Panel to start at boot using either method mentioned. You can start StartUp Control Panel anytime you want, manually, by clicking on the Startup icon in Control Panel (once Startup Control Panel is installed, which I assume you have done already).

    Maybe charlesvar has other thoughts.
