USB Scanner

I have a Primax Colorado 19200 USB Scanner. I used to have Windows 98 but I up graded to Windows XP Pro a few months ago.

The drivers for XP on that device are not available but the manufacturer clearly indicates that the Windows 2000 drivers will work perfectly. The last time I formatted my computer and installed XP on it. The scanner was not recognized. By this I mean that the computer did not notice it as a new device. I un-plugged it, tried different ports, etc, it would never notice it. Then one day, out of the blue it noticed it just as I was doing something completely unrelated and I installed it with the Windows 2000 drivers and I worked fine.

Just yesterday, I formatted my computer and now I need my scanner. I tried like before to get the computer to recognize it but nothing seems to work. I also tried the new hardware wizard but I still have no luck because when I select the drivers for it, nothing happens. I know it’s not my USB port because the DLS connection I am using goes through a USB network adapter.

Can anyone help me out?

In control panel is there a reference to your scanner in the scanner & camera ICON? If so go from there to add the win2k driver.... "Have Disk" button
