I assume that you are using Internet Explorer.
Unfortunately, there is no way to have IE rememeber to open links maximised, it simply uses the size of the previous window. What you can do though is have only one IE window open, stretch it so that it fills the whole screen then hold down the Shift or Control (not sure which, but it might be either) key and close the window. That will fix the problem, for a while.
I don't know if this has been fixed in IE7, but I do know that the other browsers around don't have this problem.

Not exactly. (And I am not sure why remembering your last settings is not remembering your settings), but in any case IE remembers different settings for its primary window and new windows. These can sometimes be reset programmaticly by a visited web page. To re-set your preferences:

    Start IE.
Open a new link (from anywhere) so that it is clear that linked windows are the object for the settings change..

    Close the original (first) page.

Using your mouse, drag the top border, right border, bottom border, and left border to the dimensions of the linked page you wish to have.

Close the page with a File, Exit or Ctrl-key+Red X

    Exit IE completely.
    Restart and test.

It is hardly a default if every popup resets it, is it now?
Is that not what I said?

Yes, it is. In any plain english sense of the word default. And it is not true that every popup is going to reset it. And why are you bothered by popups anyway?

In any case, if you cannot control popups or other web methods that can change the default settings for Window size, IEMaximizer, freeware, will gaurantee that this stops happening: http://www.jiisoft.com/iemaximizer/index.asp
