Explorer automatically opens

    I have attached a digital dictation machine to a computer. When the user drops it into its cradle, a windows explorer window opens displaying the contents as if it were a new hard drive.

    How can I turn this facility off?

    Hi Grunty,

    It sounds like Autoplay.

    When it opens, right click > Properties > Autoplay tab.

    Untick "Prompt me each time to choose an action" and Apply.

    You might have to do that for each file type listed in the drop down menu.
