A while ago, I installed the msn desktop toolbar, the msn screensaver and the msn desktop toolbar in Outlook. I uninstalled then about two weeks ago. Yet, they are still listed in the toolbar is still listed in Outlook. Even though I don't have it showing as of now. Plus, the screensaver is still listed in the choices when I go to change my screen saver. I have checked my total computer and nothing is left. I even went into the registry, yet I cannot find anything. Can anyone shed some light? Is there another software that can totally clean this out. I even used Windows Install clean up. They are not listed in there either. Yet, from time to time. I still see them.

I don't know where the MSN toolbar puts the majority of its program files but I would try this. Make sure the installs don't show up; in Add/Remove programs, Start Programs, in c:\Program files. Look in all these places for an uninstall option.

If there is no trace in any of these places, then run a program like AdAware or HijackThis. Try AdAware first. If you use HijackThis, save the log file and post it here. There may be some trace .dlls still floating around.

Close all your explorer related windows including any IE windows before you do this.

Put a check in the items above and have HijackThis remove them. These are mainly internet links but there are a couple of .dlls. If the .dlls are already gone, HijackThis may show them as (I can't remember the exact phrasing)... "File missing" in red or something.

You could also check the above if you don't do much on ebay...didn't see anyother ebay related items on your log so this may just be a left over entry.

After they are removed, rescan with hijackthis and see if any lines with MSN pop back up. You may have to do this in safe mode if they don't seem to go away.
