OE will not accept my password. Have followed MS's post on this issue, but it does not work. Any suggestions?

    OS is XP.

If you are able to connect to your ISP, but not to OE try setting up a new account - your existing account may be corrupted.

BTW - I don't know what MS suggests as you did not post a link.

Sorry...........Article 290684, if you care to look at it. This is on my laptop BTW. Not my week........

OE is actually showing that the password has been saved previously, but doesn't accept it. I can go through my ISP and retrieve my email, but is a pain.

MS recommends backing up the registry, removing the user account in the registry, and then, reentering the password. Tried all that. No go. Unfortunately, that seems to be the only thing they have on that problem.

I even tried to go back and do a registry restore. Nothing.

Actually, that was the easiest thing to do. So far, is working well. Thanks for the suggestion. Seems the simplest things usually work better than MS's suggestions.............

Well, thought it worked.............Happens everytime if I shutdown. Annoying to have to redo it each time.

Which service pack are you running - SP1 or SP2?

It might be worthwhile to run the System File Checker - won't do any harm, may do some good :)
